Toucher Vineyards Proprietary Red – From a valley-floor vineyard off the Silverado Trail, this blend had us mesmerized with its perfume of sage and sandalwood. A flash of dark plum and fig brings in a plush mouthfeel, where black-peppered boysenberry leads the charge. It’s energetic and well structured, with supple tannins, fruit-driven brightness, a depth of graphite and oak, and marvelous balance.

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – Grown on 40-year-old vines. This small production red has high-toned notes of mint-chocolate have chalky undertones. Cigar leaf, blackberry preserves, and graphite are interpreted with panache in this distinctive wine.

Falcon Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County – Starting with its black, inky hue and satin-lined tannins, it imparts a luxurious, concentrated mouthfeel. Flavors of anise, slate and chalky plum skin opens up to plum and espresso.
